1. DO NOT work here if you have a life/family. The so-called 'work/life' balance mantra that senior management constantly preaches is NOT a reality. It is but a mere catch phrase that seems to be popular with senior management who thinks if they say it enough that it is somehow true. Plan on working 60-70 hours per week + travel. 2. DO NOT expect any growth oppurtunities. The growth oppurtunities are reserved for those who know the least but can poltik the best. It really is almost like a jr. high popularity contest except all the nerds are the popular ones. I saw so many of the best people leave the firm because of how poorly they were treated. The firm is full of half-wits who do not want to see anyone else succeed so they trash others to make themselves look good. It is very sad. 3. The biggest dissappointment about working at PwC is to see just how little the seniors and management really know. Everything gets pushed down to the first-year associates for them to do and it winds up having to be done 3 and 4 times over because they don't know any better. And god forbid you ask a question. Out of the thousands of questions I or my colleagues asked while working here, I can count on 1 hand the number of direct/correct answers we received. I was shocked to finally realize that no-one really has a clue with the exception of a very small few (who wind up leaving the firm anyway). Recently, senior management wanted to cut staff by 25%, however this was never communicated to anyone at the staff level prior to busy season. With that goal in mind, many people who worked very long and hard hours were told after busy season that their performance was lacking and weren't going to receive any raise or bonuses. A lot of them wound up leaving the firm but it goes to show just how low the firm will go. I have worked in many professional capacities and I must say that working at PwC has been the absolute worst experience. It would be funny how bad it is if it wasn't so sad.
