This is great feedback. Thank you for making time to share. We have a strong leadership development program that we're training all our managers on regularly. We will make sure your feedback is addressed there and elsewhere throughout the company. In addition, for all of our outside hires one of the primary criteria we assess is any candidate's leadership capability, and specifically their ability to mentor and develop their team members.

Pros

A strong sense of voice and the leadership give engineers high level of responsibility. The technology stack is consistently reevaluated to ensure it is the best standards. A Strong culture that supports family and work relationships. The engineering team is still small enough to feel the impact of your individual contributions, but the company is large enough for those contributions to bring in a lot of value.

Cons

Growing pains; team has been refactored 3x in 2 years. Always to our advantage, but it still is never easy.

Pros

- career growth and learning for those that are driven - hard problems to work on - new user facing features and products as well as foundational platform work - free food (at least in Seattle), free snacks, frequent free swag - regular hackathons that for some projects into an actual thing

Cons

- need to keep track of your own work/life balance - good amount of technical debt across the company from the early days, however teams are actively rebuilding systems properly - as with all pre IPO companies, hard to know what equity is worth if/when we go public - No wfh, but some managers look the other way (good)
