      The people make the difference.

      Pros

      The place was actually a great place to work when it started. The problem is that they never lived up to the promises put out. The people truly are the reason to work here. Without them they have nothing.

      Cons

      The biggest downside is that not one VP level has been promoted from the inside of the company. All of these positions have been filled from outside the company. Some things in sales have already been pointed out. No matching 401K (funny this was told that this would be given once free lunches were given up). No tuition help at all. No quota relief.

      Pros

      I have been with Rackspace for over 2 years and in that time worked all across the company. I feel the company is an extremely amazing place to work. I would highly recommend it to anyone. I have had some bad experiences working with Rackspace but all of them have been handled in a timely manner. I have also never had a problem using ETO, even at the last minute when there is something that has come up with my family or for any other person reasons. I have been able to take early and late lunches to do things like go to the doctor or run errands.

      Cons

      Sometimes you will hear leadership tell you one thing, and then a month later we start doing something different. This isn't because the leadership is feeding you bad information, but it is because as the company is growing it is learning. So we will sometimes start off going down one path and quickly recognize that it is the wrong path, so change our plan. This is a good thing for a company, but sometimes as an employee it can be confusing when it is changing in real time. This is especially true with the reorgs that take place within departments in the company.

      Pros

      Free drinks, and culture, it is a fun place to work overall even though we work hard. After 3 years here things seem to be changing every day, but there are enough senior people who are smart to keep the company grounded as much as possible. Fun young and creative people to work with.

      Cons

      Long hours and tough deadlines can make it tough, but a challenge is always good. It is becoming so big that is is harder to advance than it was before. As with any bad company there are some people who are hard to work with.
