Pros

A lot of things to learn, hands-on experience and very health work culture Helpful peers and managers

Cons

Management lacks clarity Program and priority changes continuously and at a moment's notice. Basically, you have to wrap up what you have been working on tirelessly for months, shelve it to never see it again, and start from scratch on a new project.

Pros

-I've found that there's great culture between engineers. I've always gotten the support and collaboration I needed when working with the people in my team. There's a willingness to help others out when you needed assistance on tasks or projects. -I've also got support from a immediate manager when balancing multiple projects. We've smarty used the resources in our department to deliver our work in a timely manner -The product itself is very unique. I feel fortunate to say I worked at this Company on a head turning product. -Unlimited PTO was nice so I could take vacation whenever I wanted. My manager never said no to vacation as long as we found someone to take my work.

Cons

-During my time I saw a lot of bureaucratic work piled on to the normal engineering work. TPMs put more on engineers plate to show status of the open tasks to share to leadership. I wish there was more support from these mid level managers to help engineers complete their work. -Too much work given with no real clarity on the scope. Tasks became assigned because they came from upper management but no real explanation as to what the priority was or why it was needed -Lots of lack of alignment on certain topics. Multiple meetings to determine what the priority should be. I felt like I had to make a case for every time something got assigned to me that was not urgent.

Pros

Pay and benefits are competitive.

Cons

Trust no one. You really can't trust this review site. Rivian has people just to go through review sites and if they are ranking poorly, they will manufacture great reviews to balance out their ratings. That's about their best manufacturing they have, besides creating a layoff revolving door. The people from outside of Illinois hate being in Illinois and treat the people from Illinois horribly. Most management for the Normal plant are not from Illinois. Promises are made and never kept. Management and Leadership will set you up for failure if they don't like you, agree with you, or are scared of your potential. Look elsewhere!
