Pros

Good compensation and benefits package

Cons

From my personal experience working in SAP Successfactors Engineering department I feel like there is a huge ongoing problem with diversity. Most of the Dev and QA management are Indians as well as team members they prefer to hire: A lot of the Indians get hired on the spot without going through official interview process, just because they are relatives or friends of those managers, which makes it difficult for other applicants to be considered for a position. There is a lot of politics involved in the processes, project assignments, promotions, etc. Number of meetings during the business hours as well as non business hours is abnormal. Engineers can’t focus on their task because they are always destructed by meetings and have to catch up the project at night. Evening meetings are not contributing to healthy work-personal life balance, and taking quality family time away.

Pros

Some of the colleagues. The products are good.

Cons

Bad Management, Bullying style. Unrealistic expectations, no focus, no support. People ignore problems. Spread sheet warriors. Attitude of lets throw it and see where it sticks, hopefully it will reach the target, no structure at all. HR don't do anything to stop the huge turnover. The culture isn't good, it's like being back at school, everyone is just out for themselves, no leadership, no inspirational management.

Pros

- Brand - Global Resources (challenge to find the right resource, however once you do they will invest time) - Industry Value Engineering - Lunch on Us (Free Lunch), Benefits - Winner's Circle Trip - SAP invests a lot into entertainment and trips - Large Portfolio of Products (sometimes too big) - Accomplished employees - Involved with innovative projects

Cons

- Toxic environment. LONG hours (Evening or Saturday calls are not unusual - No overtime). - Internal conflicts (i.e. backstabbing teammates in attempt to steal accounts / opportunities). - Favouritism with management and employees, this behaviour is obvious. - Multiple reps selling into the same account (SF, Concur, Ariba, Hybris Analytics). This can create confusion with strategy. - Compensation can vary, some reps make nothing (poor territory planning) and some are positioned with strong accounts. - MD of Canada is not aware of many of the problems at SAP Canada's multiple offices. - We sell solutions to make companies run simple - fact of the matter is SAP doesn't even use their own 'modern' products internally. What a complex and unorganized internal system. If you work at SAP you're using Q2C / CRM ... it's 2015. - Poor Training. Sure you go to Bootcamp, but transitioning of accounts .... there is none.
