Enforced return to office

Pros

Generally very good people and culture. Plenty of interesting projects and opportunities to grow, while not being too pressured with workloads/deadlines

Cons

The company is now enforcing 3 days in the office per week, regardless of role and location(you may commute an hour or two to sit on Teams calls with the colleagues you collaborate with in a different country, ah well). Employees are told how much they're valued and listened to but this decision was taken without feedback or consideration from any employees and flies directly in the face of the companies "values".

We appreciate your feedback and have read through your comments. Please note that our hybrid working approach is an important element of the way we work at Sage that is complemented by other benefits such as paid time to volunteer, the ability to work away for up to 10 weeks a year and free well-being support tools. We recently also answered several colleagues' questions about the new 3-day policy. In doing so, we've shed more light on how colleagues will be supported as they adhere to our updated hybrid structure. More information about what we offer can be found here https://www.glassdoor.co.uk/Benefits/Sage-United-Kingdom-Benefits-EI_IE1150.0,4_IL.5,19_IN2.htm - Thanks for taking the time to leave your review. We’ll continue to work hard to improve how we enable colleagues to thrive.

Pros

- When we were working in the office there would be a lot of events and happy hours which were fun - You gain useful technical knowledge on selling accounting software

Cons

There are several reviews giving Sage Intacct sales a 5 star review with no cons, do not be fooled. They send all of the new hires a request to leave a glassdoor review before they even have a chance to realize how much is wrong. I've even noticed some bad reviews get taken down. Not sure how that's allowed. Sage Intacct highly values their online presence but I've seen an alarming amount of the executives that have been here for 10+ years, including the CEO, leave the company over the last few months. Within the SDR department there is a very high turnover rate because it's very rare to see someone get promoted to an AE position. I have been an SDR for almost 2 and a half years and have only seen 3 people become AE's out of the entire department which is extremely discouraging with the amount of SDR's we have. Most AE's are external hires from our #1 competitor. They love to talk about all the things this competitor does wrong but it seems as if working there is your golden ticket to becoming an AE. At Sage Intacct you can't even become an AE from the SDR role, they stopped allowing that. If you start as an Inbound SDR you have to be in that role for a year before you're eligible to apply to be an Outbound SDR, and from there you have to be on Outbound for a full year before you can compete against your peers for 1 of 2 Associate Account Executive roles which are basically glorified SDR positions that you need to be in for another year before you can even be considered to be a lower level AE (that can only sell to Sage 50 customers that rarely have the budget to buy Sage Intacct). You can expect to be in that role for at least a year before being considered to be an Emerging AE which rarely hits quota either, and then maybe after another year you'll be considered to be an SMB AE if there's availability and you get the job. Most people realize how big of a waste of time that is when they can be making twice as much money and gaining closing experience working for another organization. That is why most of the very best SDR's I've seen at Sage Intacct have gone to take their skills elsewhere. Seeing the top performers who were making the most money all leave the company says so much about the sales department. I do not recommend this SDR position if you have plans to develop your career in a timely manner. Upper management doesn't have your back, in fact they will hold you back, even if you've produced a lot for the company. The SDR's get treated like children, fake enthusiasm by upper management to try to get us going early in the morning, they want us to dance with our cameras on at 8am every Monday morning during a zoom call, going on vacation can turn into them taking every lead you've ever worked and giving them away for others to work without any warning, that happened when someone went on a two week vacation after hitting 102% for the year and producing more than anyone else on their team. To come back from a vacation to see that all of their leads that they ever worked were gone was eye-opening and appalling, especially for someone who had contributed so much for the company. On several occasions they've shown that they're only looking out for themselves. They cut our territories by a large margin in May 2020 at the peak of the pandemic when it was already difficult to hit quota, and did not lower quota which resulted in everyone missing their yearly number except for the SDR with New York as part of his territory which everyone knows is the best state. If you don't have a good territory you will rarely, if ever, hit quota, and if you're not hitting quota you should try and search for another job because several people have been fired for that, even during the pandemic. Most of the managers were SDR's before and have no management experience which leads to poor management, micro-management, and lack of proper support. Working for this company came with more stress than I've ever experienced in my life. If you're not willing to fight for your rights they will take advantage of you. All of the SDR's complain to one another about all of these things but most of them are too scared to speak up in fear of not getting a promotion. I hope this honest review opens up people's eyes to what they'd be signing up for when becoming an SDR at Sage Intacct.
