Pros

Free parking. Looks good on resume. Has a ping pong table.

Cons

Company politics is corrosive. Management is disconnected and has no clue. The end justifies the means - Sale is more important even if it means lying to the customer. No consistent strategy. Sage is rapidly losing market share and yet they think they are growing. In reality they are just boosting.

Thanks for your feedback. Really pleased your like the facilities and the kudos Sage gives you on your resume. Some of what you say very much concerns me. At Sage, one of our values is 'Do the right thing' and this is backed up when you refer to our desired behaviours as outlined in the Sage Academy. We've heard our CEO, Stephen Kelly, talk about customer obsession, this also means doing the right thing with customers. We want to keep customers for life, and that means selling them the right product, at the right time - so it's counter-intuitive to sell them products they don't need as they will leave us. Our Code of Conduct (which has recently been promoted through a poster campaign across Sage globally) talks about protecting our reputation with customers and you should report such wrong-doing by using the free and confidential SafeCall number (The SafeCall numbers are found in the Code of Conduct) - it's all our responsibilities to report such things. I will be passing on your comments to the relevant leaders in Canada. Thanks for your feedback.

Pros

The people are great. Benefits are decent. PTO is great.

Cons

Worst computer processing system I've ever used. If you enjoy working more then eight hours on a Wednesday this is the job for you. You are expected to wait for payrolls to run on the heaviest processing day of the week, could take up to four hours for one payroll to run. No training, have to rely on co-workers. I honestly feel the Mt Laurel division will close. They won't admit to it, but the writing is on the wall. You'll be sorry if you take a payroll processing position.

Thank you for your review. Pleasing to read the PTO and benefits worked well for you when you were at Sage. Couldn't agree with you more that our people are fantastic. We do have training for our payroll teams in NAM plus lots of other development available on Linda.com which is found via the Sage Academy. Well done for working in a tough environment - payroll. In any company payroll tends to have high volume processing days, it's the nature of the business. We have no plans at all to close the Mt. Laurel offices. Thanks again for your feedback.

Pros

The team work is strong in the Sage sales side, I worked with some really great people. Nice downtown office with amazing view of the city!

Cons

Completely unorganized as a Sales Department, no one is on the same page. Managers gossip about other managers, within the sales department as well as the marketing department. Sales managers tell their teams about what the managers problems are, stating "they don't belong in that position" "they got this job because a friend works here". Even WORSE some managers talk in a disbelief of how their manager got the job. Stating he doesn't know what he is doing, he only received the job from knowing someone in higher up management. Also sales managers gossip about some of their team to other teammates. There is no reason why other teammates know that someone is about to be placed on PIP before they do, that is completely unprofessional as a manager. To then lie about the situation is also a an eye opener itself to his/her character. From the time started until half way into the year a the bonus plan was completely unorganized. Commission scale would be changed in the middle of the month with no hope for bonus for 6 months. Stated a guarantee bonus will be in place but that was also a lie. Hands down this Sage Live department needs a lot of work.

Thanks for your review. Really pleased to hear your colleagues were great and the team work well together, it's something we always hear - i.e. our people are fantastic and make the best colleagues you can imagine. We don't accept unethical behaviour at Sage, and some of what you describe sits under this heading. We have a confidential helpline our colleagues can call - it's called SafeCall. We've had a recent campaign across all Sage offices pointing this out to our colleagues - saying they should call this number in confidence if they see something which concerns them. We strongly advise this of all colleagues and this behaviour needs stamping out. Thanks for letting us know, and hope all works out well for you in your new role, wherever that may be.
