Pros

Brightpearl offers a nice balance of structure and flexibility. Our targets are clear and it's a really hard working team from many types of background and complementing skill sets, many times the method how we use to reach our target is our choice and it's not a micromanaged environment. We're a team who are proud of the product and care for the success of the Company as much as our own career, however there are plenty of career prospects for the one who is keen to develop. It's hard work and at times many hours but I find that it works like a 'give and take relationship'. It's a set up that works well for me personally - I have a small family and the logistics around drop-offs, pick-ups and nursery bugs is sometimes tricky so the flexibility offered much appreciated.

Cons

This is a fast paced company and as many start-ups there are quite a few changes to keep up with as we try to continually improve. That might not suit everyone but also nothing the company tries to hide.

Good, but definite room for improvement

Pros

- Great team to work with. There's a lot of talented people here and they work hard. There's a lot of support and encouragement from your peers - There's a strong social scene and a good vibe in the office. People work hard but they do play hard too. - Modern offices in great locations. They're nice and fun places to work in. - The product has a lot of potential and it's an interesting space to be. There's a strong chance of success if we play it right.

Cons

- Arrogant and insular management team. Has made some very costly mistakes in the past which likely wouldn't have been made had they only listened to the "people on the ground" they consistently ignored the opinions of - Historically there has always been a priority of adding new features rather than fixing bugs or improving resilience, so there is a lot of technical debt which will likely never be fixed. This mindset seems very hard for a few people to shake. - Strategic decisions are most often rushed, or backtracked. Constant and drastic changes in company direction can prove very unsettling. Work can be prioritised depending on who shouts the loudest, which isn't always the right choice. - Frustrated employees who have left the company have often left for largely the same reasons which were never subsequently addressed

Pros

- Constantly evolving challenges, each project requires a different approach and solution - Great career progression, whether its rising to a senior position or moving departments to try something new - Supportive team, you can ask for help or feedback from anyone without having to jump through hoops! - Good opportunities to get out and about, visiting a huge range of different businesses and learning something new each time

Cons

With so many projects going on it can be hard to stay ahead, or aligned with other teams, ..but that's all part of the challenge!
