Pros

Sage provide the 25 days plus an extra days after 5 years. Office is near Reading and it's an easy commute to town.

Cons

A very political organisation with the pretension to become the ERP market leader for the mid-market.

Good Company Constantly Changing

Pros

Work life balance is a huge plus especially with kids that are active in school and sports. My department is always trying to make ourselves better by learning new technology and revising our processes. I have a great Director that cares and also challenges us.

Cons

Executive leadership seems to be too disconnected. There is a lot of bullying when it comes to new projects and people want to do something within a week but don't understand all of the backend work that goes into setting things up properly.

A few bad apples

Pros

In general, the people are all very good to work with. They're smart, considerate and helpful. The company, because of its size and the fact that it grew by acquisition, was a bit bureaucratic although it did have good internal support and infrastructure. Its a successful company, but almost too successful because that allowed it to be wasteful and slow moving business wise. Still, you can't argue with success, right?

Cons

Like all companies, there are a "few bad apples" that spoils or poisons everything they touch. Unfortunately, these bad apples are great at self-promotion and hiding their ineptitude. They always seem to cast dispersion or blame others for their failings. They're also ruthless at getting rid of people they fear or feel threaten by, no matter how good or valuable that person is to the company. I had one of these guys for a manager and you can guess what happened to me.
