Not the worst?

Pros

Nice campus, hardworking coworkers, genuine care for customers (by lower level coworkers) and decent PTO and medical benefits even for new hires.

Cons

Higher ups couldn't care less about their customers. Constantly changing with what appears to be no goal or direction, just a bunch of out of touch people saying "Oooooo a piece of candy!" over and over. If you work here they will be up your backside every second of the day even when you're doing things exactly as they want.

Thanks for reviewing Sage. We are pleased to hear the benefits worked well for you and you liked the campus. People are at the heart of everything we do and our business builders are the reason we exist. Customers are our obsession. We’re passionate to celebrate and serve them. This is understood by everyone at Sage. There's a lot going on at Sage which we are really proud of - from the continued development of Pegg - the first ever chat bot for accountancy, to investing firmly in cloud-based products, our acquisition of Fairsail, our Sage Summit global tour and unveiling next generation cloud solutions and invisible accounting vision for 2020. Then there's all the internal initiatives too - Platinum Elite 2017 has just been unveiled, our new global Intranet has just gone live, a new careers section to help our colleagues be the best they can be, Sage Live TV continues to helps deliver key messages across the business. We wish you every success with your career.

Pros

There were pockets of very good people and leaders, a lot of nice local folks. there was a great family culture in Vancouver, seemed quite removed from the NA global culture.

Cons

Overall it felt like a stagnant place to work where a lot of people focus on being conservative and being political, rather than taking risk to be innovative. The Salary was awful given the amount of experience i had. There marketing leadership didn't seem to know what they were doing on the global side, there was a lot of infighting and they lacked innovation.

Thanks for taking time to write your review. As you say there are lots of fantastic colleagues at Sage and many companies state it feels like a family, but you're right, it is like that here. With respect to salary we believe that we are competitive in the market and that there is plenty of opportunity to become successful and earn, plus excel and this was demonstrated by over 100 colleagues and their partners attending our Platinum Elite a couple of weeks ago in Dubai (this year's location for Platinum Elite has just been announced and it's a luxurious resort in Mexico). In terms of innovation, it's great to be part of Sage right now, so much is happening from 5 new accounting cloud solutions across 7 global markets for business of all sizes to tens of thousands of ‘new to Sage’ customers adopting accounting chat bot Pegg in 6 months since launch and over 100 new and fully integrated ISV’s on the Sage Marketplace – building on Sage’s heritage of strong partnerships, including new global relationships with Salesforce, Microsoft, Apple and Slack. We hope you continue to have a successful career and thanks again for writing your review.

Restructure Hurts

Pros

The people I worked with at Sage were great and the benefits were good. The team members could be trusted to do their jobs as an effective team.

Cons

Consolidation and restructure left people to do more with less. At the same time, energies were going into new buildings in strategic areas. This combination resulted in many people leaving Sage.
