Pros

There are some fantastic people in the organization. The compensation package is good. 60% profit sharing. Pension package. Medical dental plan.

Cons

Pay. Not keeping up with inflation. Serious technology issues. Using very outdated platforms with a lot of bugs and glitches. Management does a terrible job training, you are expected to figure things out on your own, and are held accountable when you you don't perform as you received no training. They "say" it's not about goals and it's about customers. Absolutely not the case it all comes down to profit and meeting targets. Don't want to pay overtime but the expectation to work overtime is there with the messaging being " if you can't do the work in the time given maybe this is the wrong job" Completely unrealistic sales targets Aggressive sales targets for tellers as well. Are penalized on performance reviews for negative customer reviews( whether they are controllable or not) Clear favoritism in teams, if you're in, great things will happen for you, if you're out.... well you're really out. Don't like it when you challenge the status quo, they ask for open honest feedback but only if it fits their mantra. They "talk" about mental health, it's importance, but nothing is done, no changes are made to actually improve what is causing mental health issues in the workplace

Pros

Nothing about this team. Out of my entire career, the manager and the assistant managers were the worst human beings I have ever met

Cons

Wealth management services team. This team has probably close to 10 turnover employees within a year. Why? The management is absolutely the worst humans you will ever meet. When you are ill on Thursday with Friday already booked as vacation, manager asks how will I make up time to come into an office that week as it’s a hybrid model. Laptop had to restart due to some tech issue, so was 5-10 minutes late logging in- manager said they will deduct that from my vacation pay. Unrealistic expectation set to the team. Wants something done - but doesnt force overtime, can’t pay for overtime, but needs to be done on that day. My life was a living hell when working for this team. 3 people just suddenly decided to get up and leave the job because of this micromanagement. The management does not blink an eye that people quit. Do not work for this team if you want to work at scotiabank. Avoid at ALL COST IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A LIFE.

Pros

Coffee machine in the cafeteria

Cons

Company should act more in making sure their employees well being are taken care of instead of just talking about it . Managers only cares about making bonuses off the people working under them nothing more. In the end, the company only looks good on paper.
