Pros

Great skipping stone positions in careers Company has solid reputation from the outside Job Security

Cons

Office politics Below average pay... Can not stress this enough the pay in most positions in retail banking is below 20 dollers/hour if you are a sales rep, 13 if you are in customer service Workload expected way to much of you Ridiculous goals/expectations..which includes your friends and family members. When you get hired here expect your whole network to open bank accounts a Scotia Stressful work environment

Pros

Training content was in depth. Great people to work with. Senior and district Management genuinely wants to be a part of the learning process with staff.

Cons

Pay does not match up with the knowledge expected. Benefits are not great. There is a great learning plan but no time allocated to work on it. Policies are always changing it's hard to keep up to date. Knowledge required for the job is too much for one person.

Limited growth opportunities.

Pros

This is a position that would be great for someone right out of a masters program, but it should not be a position that lasts longer than 2 -3 years. After that point, the individual should definitely actively market themselves to move up into a competitor.

Cons

There is little emphasis on skill or career development and very limited dialogue in terms of how to position one's self for greater opportunities or increased responsibilities.
