Pros

Diverse company. Internal mechanisms typically are functional. Sales look at #'s and make decisions based on best direction to head. Sometimes too political though. a lot of locations to choose from around tthe west. Need to seek them out.

Cons

Not always a people friendly company...very large and fragmented. Need more cohesiveness. Need to continue to grow and focus on critical intitiatives. Not just hoping sales will come...need to drive it and own it. Work closer with other departments and divisions. Keep up with current business operating mechanisms. Seek input from variety of resources fro best course of actions.

Pros

Immediate Management is very supportive and very active in career development. The employees are also very supportive and strive for excellence

Cons

There seems to be a perpetual air of layoffs. There is also a sense of "I wish it was the way it used to be" from the employees. They are too focused on the good ol' days and not living in the current situation.

Pros

The support for good work / life balance is fantastic. While there is a lot of work to be done and at times the hours are long they are also very flexible. Some times you work long hard hours, other times not so much. They provide a lot of opportunity for learning. I enjoy working with customers and colleagues.

Cons

The recent layoffs and financial problems have made it difficult to focus on delivering value. There is a lot of uncertainty and people are waiting for clarification on the company's future direction and structure. The organizational structure is such that everyone is forced to focus on individual application silos. It is difficult to do something that benefits the company as a whole if it doesn't advance your silo's agenda The company is very large, it is hard to understand the entire portfolio. Nobody can explain the entire healthcare experience and how Siemens products fit into that experience across the entire suite, especially if you cross the former operating company boundaries. Sales sometimes sells "concepts" that do not exist as products - not a problem unique to Siemens.
