Pros

I would have say first and foremost the best reason to work for Stabucks Coffee Company is the free one pound of coffee or one box of tazo tea of your choice EACH week! I love whole bean coffee and brewing at home, and I also love a variety of teas to choose from when I feel like I have overdosed on caffeine for that day/week. Since I am a college student and I obviously work at Starbucks as well, I also love being caffeinated for free everyday I work, it helps me with finishing papers and projects and my job performance. I also love the flexibility of hours available to work, sometimes I start at 4 a.m. so I can be out and into class by 10 a.m.!

Cons

Really its not Starbucks as a company that has any downsides, (except maybe the labor cut recently but thats due to economic pressures) but the managers who think they can control your life. I have worked continuously in California, Alabama, and Michigan, spending at least 6 months or more at each store, and it seems like the same people are attracted to working there, and they tend to be catty. I have gotten threats of hours cut because of my personality (not work related). When some baristas are promoted to shift supervisors an ego grows and then conflicts arise, but altogether most people in general are that way. Like I mentioned at the beginning, the labor cuts are really sucking, and when we have a rush of customers come and order, there are NEVER enough people working to make it balanced. Other than that, its awesome!
