Pros

-Available hours -Great co-TMs -Opportunities to meet other people -Job promotion opportunities

Cons

-Sometimes hours aren't freely available, so you'll have to speak up -Hard working, dedicated TMs aren't rewarded for their efforts -Have to show some leadership skills and results to be considered for Team Lead or higher -ETLs have a high school clique mentality, meaning you have to fit in -Decent pay

Culture can be Toxic

Pros

Company has a friendly environment Competitive pay and benefits Great work/life balance Young employees

Cons

Target is in no way, shape or form a leader in it's industry, they are 100% follower. They are quick to identify what other companies are doing and implementing, but there is NO innovation going on at Target. Like MANY other reviews on here have said, you have to fit the "Target" mold/culture. If you don't, you will be moved out quickly, as I had seen quite a few co-workers let go due to personality issues or cultural differences, and not for performance. The Target culture is just like the state culture. "Minnesota nice" Not being from Minnesota, I had no idea how bad it could possibly be. Everyone will be nice to your face but talk crap behind your back and to anyone that will listen to get ahead. The other bad thing about Target culture is that you do NOT ever want to be the bearer of bad news and it is best to just avoid talking about it all together. Target refuses to acknowledge issues/problems. Target couldn't careless what you went to school for, or even if you have any analytic ability. They hired communication majors, history majors, psych majors, language majors, for a position that is expected to have a high degree of number analysis and math. You will be working with a rather large group of lackluster employees that honestly couldn't do basic profit margin calculations.

Target Sucks

Pros

It is my fist job. I have been able to get experience for future jobs, that's about it.

Cons

Everything. I get treated horribly by the GSAs and LODs. I get my job threatened every single shift if I don't get a Red Card. I get talked down on. I never get all of my breaks. I never got an interview for a promotion. My hours got cut back for no reason. I get scheduled outside of my available.
