Pros

The people are very nice and know what they're doing...very smart! Their 401(K) matching is awesome.

Cons

If you don't play the game and become a "Tar-bot" you will go nowhere in this company. If you stay in the same job for more than two years it's looked down upon. Don't enter the company as NE (hourly) because rarely will you ever get a job as E (salary). NE employees don't receive the same maternity leave as E. If you're not FFF enough it will go on your review. The pay stinks. Small amount of PTO.

Pros

They are so great at scheduling around school and other obligations. They hire some really team members. I usually felt valued and supported in my decisions and was given a lot of autonomy. Most of my coworkers were fun to work with, and my input about hiring decisions of seasonal workers was taken into consideration. I was always treated with respect.

Cons

The wages are very low and the hourly cap at some stores is set at $11 per hour. In have never seen such piddly raises, all while be told how well the store is doing in sales. I disliked the Disney-type atmosphere and being made to feel guilty for not acting giddy all the time. It did take me a while to accept that some people are motivated by coloring contests and posters, etc. Their new Vibe program (writing good things about yourself and posting them) is an ineffective motivational tool. It has been relaunched 3 different times now. We also went 6 months without any apparel team leader, and so far, one month without an executive overseeing apparel either.

Pros

You get to experience all the fun and innovative new products first hand and see how they are produced. Great benefits.

Cons

Recognition came in the form of a "great team card"-a piece of paper. Difficulty for advancement. Extremely needy social and "coffee" oriented culture. I felt as though work was an afterthought for the employees some days, lots of down time. Lots of discussion, less doing. Large gap between non-exempt and exempt employees. Feedback oriented culture, more focused on the negative feedback than the positive. Felt extremely under-appreciated in an entry level position.
