Pros

Fun people to work with; professional but laid back atmosphere and team-oriented environment. There are a lot of opportunities to make friends and gain leadership experience.

Cons

Because it is a retail environment, the hours are somewhat random and you will never work a 9-5 or have weekends off.

Pros

-The management is generally pretty easy to get along with. If you have a family emergency, or need a day off with little notice, you can generally get it (as long as it isn't every other week). - The management is pretty good about working with you to get you on a good work schedule. -Stores are generally much cleaner than comparative retail venues, which makes for a more pleasant work environment. -Perks to keep the team morale up are greatly appreciated. These include pizza parties to reward milestones in days without accidents to special events and parties to reward beating sales figures.

Cons

-As in any retail environment, "manager-itis" can be present from a few people, who would rather order you to do something than ask. -Some job expectations are unreasonable, such as stocking 5 pallets of merchandise by yourself in an hour. -As in any retail environment, hours are usually cut during the spring to start building a surplus for hours around the winter holidays.

Pros

Target alows for very flexible hours throughout high school and when returning from college. There are virtually no prerequisites for most hourly positions.

Cons

Management is willing to throw you under the buss to make themselves look good. It seems that anyone mid-level management material, leading to somewhat incompetent leadership. As a result of cutting corners with time, hours are hard to get and expected workload is mostly unachievable.
