Pros

Work with good people, not difficult to learn, benefits are better than average for retail, and I get a discount (albeit a pretty small one) at a store I shop at often.

Cons

The work can be hectic, training is almost entirely on-the-job, so you have to learn quickly and be proactive about it, there are so many superiors that it can be confusing who to listen to when given multiple varying commands, pay is lousy, the promotion process is overly politicized, and most policies are zero-tolerance, even if you've proven to be a hard working, honest, reliable employee.

Pros

I worked here for a summer while I attended college. As a Sales Team Member, it is what it is. Nothing more, nothing less. General responsibilities included cleaning up aisles, stocking, cashiering, and helping customers. Co-workers and managers were generally friendly and accesible.

Cons

I got stuck with closing shifts often. To be fair, I expected this schedule considering my open availability and my seasonal worker status. Although most customers are friendly, I did come across few who tested my patience.

Pros

Decent pay Coworkers are generaly amiable and friendly Opportunity to learn new things Lots of training available to make learning new things easy

Cons

If you are not overly aggressive, nothing will happen for you; basically, you can do an awesome job and get looked over for promotions unless you chase it down. They will not offer you an advancement because they have confidence in you or because you do a good job. unless you put that stupid piece of paper in and get in your store team leader's face about it, nothing will ever happen- it doesn't matter if you're superman They will move you to a different area without consulting you. you walk in one day and suddenly have a different position. they will say it's "good for you" to move because of some challenge or another, but in reality they are just filling positions- you really don't have any controll over lateral moves.
