Pros

Throws pretty good parties, sometimes.

Cons

Worst place to work on Earth. People are treated as chattel, hired in droves, then fired in droves. Management doesn't have a clue about how to organize labor, and they clearly have their favorites when it comes to promotion. I can't say enough awful things about this company.

Pros

Texas Instruments has a great history with a global footprint and many Smart people ruwho have stuck around through the turbulent recent past can make this company great once again.

Cons

The entire company is run like a Sales team. Long term vision means thinking about 4 Quarter during the first Quarter. Texas Instruments really needs to shed it's Inbred management of Sales people and hire some experienced and qualified technology executives. There is no technology company in the world that can continue to grow and prosper by spending more money on SG&A than R&D (take a look at their 2013 Annual report)

Layoffs and executives with no vision

Pros

None as this company is all about cutting cost and people

Cons

This company has lost its way but this is expected with top management background being sales. This has led to a company with no vision and lack of technology leadership. They do excel at cutting cost by laying off the people who really make a difference except for those who are buddies with management (good old boy network going strong). Those thinking about joining, my recommendation is to stay away as this company is heading in the wrong direction, more so if your field is SW programmer (there are very little to no career opportunities).
