Pros

40 Hr/Wk. Super easy going culture with cake works. Most of the engineers here are hired out of third tier Midwest/Texas state schools.. so competition is easy as pie.

Cons

If you want to have a stable, OK job, stay with TI If you are OK with setting with average, stay with TI If you want to be a mediocre engineer for the rest of your life, stay with TI Pay is OK in Dallas and Arizona (who the heck wants to live in these cities.. most good engineers that are worth their salts know that staying in these cities are career suicide in tech field), but hilariously mediocre in the Bay Area. (PLMs and BU managers make less money than facebook NCG's overall compensation) Absolutely zero innovation other than GaN and 65nm analog process R&D.. Most of the PLM/BU managers think reducing quiescent current by 3uA is considered innovation.. but how can you blame them knowing that most them are from third-tier state schools that end with (blah blah state .. blah blah tech, etc..) which is still not as impressive as monumental progresses that are being made by software companies in machine learning and A.I.

Pros

Profit sharing/great benefits, can create connections to move about the business units to create your own rotation, solid affinity groups

Cons

"pay for performance" company so your increase in salary is highly dependent on your relationship with your manager and his ability to speak to your accomplishments in the review meetings. If you are trying to move to another business unit your boss can make or break that for you. Because each group is treated like it's own small company you can be ostracized if it's found out that you are trying to move. Or your boss can prevent you from moving.

Pros

good local leadership and great colleagues in my group, a good place to start a career with multiple paths to choose from. managers are helpful with resources acquisition, career advice and are considerate of your limited bandwidth work culture encourage knowledge sharing and there is a lot to learn

Cons

factory culture and production support could be tiresome and frustrating, critical knowledge is hard to get if you don't have a good connection with BU team. no opportunities to transfer from AT site to BU site compensation is relatively low compared with other companies in the industries

Pros

Great place to learn anything from technical skills to business development. After 3 years in a role, most managers will gladly help you transfer to a new role if you so desire. Good compensation and pay, benefits are standard. Good mix of young and old.

Cons

Very heavy on metrics. Tools will roll out that aren't complete yet. Metrics then based on sub-par tools.
