Pros

... and mediocrity comes to thrive. If you're not neurotypical, i.e. you are on classified with a disability / on a spectrum you need to be prepared to be driven crazy with disparity. TI from the top perpetuates values that include things such as efficiency and urgency. Don't you dare fall for it. This is a job for people to socialize for 4+ hours per day. If you dare try to communicate observation of disparity with the values, you will be met with adversity. I get more done in the first half of one day than most do in 3 or 4 days. I don't hold it against them. Most aren't on the spectrum like me. If I dare ask for things to make me more efficient (I am literally willing to pick up the slack for others) I am met with disdain and misunderstanding. This is a great place to collect a paycheck. It's not a great place to make a name for yourself. The benefits are great. The pay is great. I never cared about pay beyond being able to be secure in obtaining food, shelter, and healthcare.

Cons

Meh I can't be bothered to try and fit this neurotypical format. See pros section for my cons or mods do me a favor and seperate it. Further editing reduces honesty. This is not a place wherr you can master the skill. The embedded inefficiencies are overwhelming. Tools that are 45 years old will be the bane of ypur existence. "Why are we hemorrhaging money?" Because we use outdated tools and everyone and anyone has a seperate local copy of a file that they edited and there exists zero in the way of a golden source for information. No teamwork exists. It's a game of tribalism but no one is actually punished for anything ever.

Pros

Great networking opportunity for new grads as TI has a puppy mill reputation Grass roots company (also a con) Up to 20% profit sharing Team can be great, but it is entirely up to who you get as a manager and I have only had one good manager. Sometimes you have the option to move internally to different roles

Cons

TI does not have a lot to offer with lower than average pay for the area, and very high turnover due to overworked, understaffed teams. Both management and so-called leadership are incompetent and exist only to boost their ego of being at the same company for over a decade. Even leadership likes to jump ship (to lead yet another TI group who mysteriously also had an opening) after wrecking existing roles and responsibilities. Poor planning and failed executions led to the blame game which is why employees suddenly got walked out the door during an unannounced layoff, Fall 2024. Bonus points: the CFO is not shy and will shoulder check you to get out of a crowd rather than a simple "excuse me."The same individual announced 5 days in office due to "poor financial performance," when in reality, demand went down because we are no longer in a chip shortage.

Pros

Interesting work, good pay. Good opportunity for advancement. Reasonable work life balance.

Cons

Different groups act very independently. Some groups are not managed well. Engineers that are struggling in one group should consider switching rather than going to another company. The size of the company sometimes creates bureaucracy that can make it hard to achieve some goals.

Cons

Forced transfers to worse fabs are a real concern, and management needs to step up. Job security is also questionable.

Pros

Starting as a new college Grad at TI is very difficult but after time and with right management expectation role becomes easier WFH and very few meetings outside normal work hours

Cons

Pay increase is manager dependent and there is no consistent stance on when a employee should receive significant increase in salary and job grade (Very manager opinion dependent)
