Not even worth listing - apply somewhere else

Wanna work for a trash organization that’s performative, doesn’t care about it employees, and has underlying goals rooted in capitalism? Then this is your place to be Truly THEE worst job experience I’ve had in a professional setting. Execs: don’t care about employees simply because they don’t get it. They’re so unaware of their privilege, whiteness, and lack of empathy because they kiss each others butts and only accept feedback from those that brown noise them. If you are brown and/or queer do NOT work here - they truly do not care about you and don’t attempt to learn from their limited brown staff. If I had to hear one more person at that level tell me about a death in their family or personal issue in one of our 388348 required meetings…. Pay is probably the only thing keeping people here. Even though you’re not guaranteed a raise even though you’re probably working over 55 hours . But health insurance is barely a competency as this “trans affirming” organization almost completely took away gender affirming healthcare for staff. Want to report harassment, bullying, or negative treatment? Not worth it because your feelings will be dismissed or you will be hazed to shut up/leave. HR barely responds - specifically the directors . Quick to give a severance but slow to respond to basic emails (we’re talking months people). Human Resources? An ever revolving door of people that want to help but can’t. Crisis services? Try crisis workers in crisis because their leadership causes all of their staff to run for the hills. For the first 30 days it can be fun- after that you better have therapy and doctor appointments set up because your health will decline rapidly from stress. Marketing? Performative and controlling. Don’t get me started on the training team with leaders from a dictatorship that makes their employees cry and quit. Advocacy team a.k.a the Republican Party we get it. We love to hire straight ally’s that don’t use safe language, can barely remember pronouns, bullied my Black and brown friends and simply want to work here because their sisters, uncles, nephew came out years ago and they want to do better to make up for their homophobia. no. One. Likes. Working. Here. Apply somewhere else - you’re welcome

Pros

- Great place to be open and out as an LGBTQ person - Good time off/vacation balance - Team culture is amazing - these are good people who care about how you're doing - Amazing mission, and very easy to see impact of your work on the community Trevor serves

Cons

- The job is grueling, and you'll never have enough time to get your work done and feel good about it. You have to pick one. - Mostly hire people right out of undergrad, and pay below market average. - This role has limited growth potential. You may level up once, but it's not likely. - Burn out culture is pretty strong - I hate to say this, but the management at Trevor is really white, and they tend to promote people who think and act like them. So if you want to move up, you have to fit their mold. - Despite what some people may say - there are glass ceilings at Trevor. External hires get priority over internals for many positions.

Pros

In theory, the best part of Trevor is the intention of their "written" mission! On paper it looks good, sounds good, and is nice to say in every way. Achieving it costs donors 10X in antiquated business operations, overhead, and misuse of monetary resources.

Cons

The CEO and Executive Director micromanages and discriminates at its finest on every level within every vertical within the organization. The People Team "nka People Organization" is antiquated at every turn - every function. We are extremely eloquent at providing written explanations to flood your inbox and not answer or resolve anything to waste your time and frustrate our employees even more. We'd like to respond, but unless we have approval from CCM or DPB, we can't respond unless our response are reviewed and approved, or written for us and approved by the CEO and Executive Director. Have you ever wondered why it takes so long to get a response from the People team or why we continually ask you to resubmit a Services Ticket! Systems, Processes, and procedures are held together with "duck tape and a prayer!" Not to worry, the best part is our new CPO, DPB hired her complete regime from her past employer and brought them over to Trevor. Soon you'll start to see them all starting their first day. I'm sure all of the People team below these new VP roles are being reorganized to terminate all of us who are below them! For all existing employees, do not trust or confide in the Executive Team in any Listening Tours scheduled ---- it's all for show. DPB is not interested in improving anything, just implementing her agenda like a football team. Truly, if you're not drinking the kool aide, you will be walked out and silenced.
