Pros

- Helping youth in crisis - Gaining experience in working with consistently dwindling budget

Cons

- All marketing focus goes to donors, I'd say <10% goes to actually reaching youth in crisis - Working against competing priorities internally - Very cold leadership that does NOT care about employees. Asked me to create a coverage plan before my maternity leave, then used it as a roadmap to replace me by dealing out my work to already overworked staff. I was laid off 2 weeks into maternity leave after being there 3 years. Cold convo with no remorse.

Pros

Great work life balance, great benefits, for the most part great people to work with as well and fair pay.

Cons

unfortunately they dont know how to manage their own funds which lead to constant layoffs and restructuring. Not a secure job.

Your mental health will be worse for working here

Pros

I have had good experiences with coworkers who care a lot, however, we are always forced to accept dysfunction and gaslighting in order to ensrue your own survival. I've somehow survived 3 layoffs, and I've never been more demoralized.

Cons

Where do I begin? The irony of a suicide prevention organization actively causing worsening mental health of their staff? Leadership treating their employees like children, laying off people due to financial ineptitude, all while making so many blunders boggles the mind? They can hide behind the value they claim to add to the world, but this life-saving organization performs the mission rather than doing the mission. The moral rot is so deep, it's unclear if it will ever be able to recover. There are zero opportunities for advancement.
