Pros

The owner started me at what I asked for. Fairly easy job to do.

Cons

Small shop with half of the employees being related. They would call out frequently and leave the non-related employees with covering the store when they were EXTREMELY busy. The owner would not pull you aside and speak to you privately about what was done wrong or needed improvement. Instead, you were yelled out in front of other employees and even customers. Was told at training that when you hit the declared value button, leave it at $199 instead of changing it to the standard $100 even if the customer did not want a higher declared value. No benefits what so ever. No paid time off, vacation time, holiday pay or health insurance.

Pros

Not very difficult to pick up on packing techniques. Can have the opportunity to do creative design work for customers (or even the store) Relatively easy work Many of the same customers frequent stores which enables you to foster good relationships with them

Cons

Not a fun or inspiring job Very low-paying (at least at my location -- they are franchisee-owned) Uniforms

They offer an easy work environment, it is a job that doesn't require much skill. They teach you what you need to do your job

Cons

Not much room for upward movement in pay. A job that is good to start but not continue a career in.
