Pros

Timken offers above average salary, compensation and benefits. Those who fit the corporate culture are offered advanced off-site training and development. Facilities are generally clean and offer adequate break spaces and vending machines. Office space for managers is nice, and cubes are decent. Supplies are ordered consistently. Parking is abundant and secure.

Cons

Timken offers little job stability. Frequent mergers and acqusitions create high involuntary and voluntary turnover. Those that remain exhibit survivor guilt and job protection mentality and behavior. Warehouse and technical training and certification is non-existent, which is disturbing since the company makes airplane parts. Timken reports higher than average safety violations and injuries, even deaths.

Pros

Lots of room for advancement in Canton, Ohio, domestically and internationally. Business casual dress makes working at Timken comfortable. Good pay and benefits.

Cons

There is somewhat of a line in the sand between hourly and salary employees. It is often a challenge to compromise on issues. Also, the "new generation" of workes starting at Timken are sometimes given a hard time.

Pros

Timken is a respected company in the industry for its technical competence and engineering achievements. It is a global company that may give opportunity to live naywhere in the world.

Cons

There is very little accepted input from those that are closest to the market. It does not value the importance of the sales relationship to the customer nor the knowledge and experience that sales may have to the process.
