Pros

- Compensation is way above market - good learning experience - work from home policies, very flexible - open and transparent appraisal process

Cons

- they extract work from you worth every penny they pay you. Extremely stressful workload - late working almost every day due to work pressure

Pros

Unilever is a company thriving on building talent and strong teams. There are infinite varieties of roles on offer within Finance in the 3 South West offices and beyond. The management style is generally co-operative and friendly. The levels of bureaucracy are diminishing giving wider responsibilities to more junior levels and making roles more interesting/ fulfilling.

Cons

Base salary is below other FMCG companies for equivalent roles BUT the extras & bonus package (many other companies don't give such generous bonuses to their Finance teams) boosts the full package to just below senior manager level for equivalent-sized FMCGs. Not a con, but a watch-out: progression can be slow if you do not drive your career with the right people (look out for those heading up the talent committees).

Pros

Unilever has allot of perks, such as a great company store, a cafeteria, a gym. They even have a hair salon that is priced very well . The people are a mixed group; many from other countries. Promotions are not easy to come by due to constant re-structures.

Cons

Each department has its own personality. Some departments are really agile (work from home) while some other departments use the agile as a perk for it's managers. It's not really clear what the policy is.
