Pros

If you take the initiative, there are excellent opportunities to learn and grow. You have the chance to use multiple skill sets at one type. You can choose to be a specialist and/or a generalist. You can really create a nice little niche for yourself. Sometimes the focus seems to be on quantity as opposed to quality to meet certain deadlines.

Cons

Slow to adopt new technologies, but once adopted they spare no expense. You need to prove yourself constantly. Compensation is lacking, but the telecommuting makes up for it.

Pros

The compensation is good. There is still a pension plan for associates with free medical insurance. Not so for management however. Verizon will pay for your college education.

Cons

The union has sold out the associates, Upper management is full of cronyism and nepotism and treat lower management simply as pawns to further their own agendas and careers. The constant downsizing has created a fearful atmosphere and there is constant backstabbing and brown nosing. The needs of the customer are getting totally lost in the numbers game. They pretend to care about customer service, but internal roadblocks constantly prevent employees from actually doing their job.
