Verizon Wireless for the most part is a great place to work, opportunity for advance is highly achievable and benefits are one of the best out of any industry. The company has not had a negative quarter since it formed in 2000. Long Term Incentives are always paid at full. The company is constantly changing due to technological advancements and as employee you are on the forefront of these changes. Top employees are rewarded generously with all expense paid trips to different parts of the world.

Cons

Like all companies there are some definite downsides. Definitely the corporate atmosphere with many levels of bosses and that top down approach. Lots of stress from upper management on hitting targets, like most organizations I am sure. Some management not being completely qualified.

Verizon Wireless is a very good company to work for. They offer very competitive starting salaries and they offer Tuition assistance. If you manage to successful network the higher management staff there are endless opportunities for advancement within the company. If you like enjoy technology and innovation then Verizon Wireless has that to offer. Also the benefits with Verizon are amazing. A lot of companies are unable to offer the type of benefits that Verizon Wireless have to offer. Verizon does try there best to take care of there New Hires. So if your looking for a Career rather than a job then Verizon Wireless is a good place to start.

Cons

Verizon Wireless is a very good company to work for, but it is also a very stressful company to work for. Once you move past your new hire stages senior management becomes very inconsiderate. Verizon wants it's employee's to be all about Verizon Wireless. If your very family oriented person then it may be difficult to maintain and healthy personal life outside Verizon Wireless. The hours are very demanding depending on your field and the company expects you to meet those demands. Verizon Wireless has many different opportunities and fields of work but you advancement in the company depends on who you know and not what you know.

Its still one of the major name brands - people know and experience parts of what you do often.

Cons

Management is completely myopic and out of touch. They are singularly focused on cost control without any regard to the resulting quality and what it will do to the longer term outlook for the company.
