Pros

Great benefits, much room for fast advancement , great leadership and support. A lot of time off options. Verizon Is great for entry level , great coworkers too!

Cons

STRESS. If you are NOT used to a call center , if you DONT LIKE people, this job is most definitely NOT for you. I stressed myself sick here literally. This job isn't for me lol. Surveys mean everything. If u get an upset customer ( and you will), and they give u a bad survey it kills your performance metrics. Also you can't hang up on stupid customers. You can't hang up when they get REALLY offensive.

Pros

Good pay and benefits when you are not chastised for using them. Like personal and vacation days!!! What good are they when they retaliate for using them?Or force you to come back off of vacation?

Cons

Constant demand for results (obviously) but when the message is delivered to us (management) and we deliver down, we are "too harsh". Leadership tells us to hold people accountable but in the same breath says to be easy on them. I can go on and in. I won't. I'm not disgruntled, I used to live and die by Verizon. Now I'm on Glassdoor. Work-Life? Doesn't exist after above assistant manager.

Pros

Work balance is nice, especially with options to telecommute. Wonderful colleagues who become life long friends. Vacation time & flex time are good. Training and tuition assistance are available. There are many great benefits at Verizon unfortunately it is over shadowed by the constant reminder of the next workforce reduction.

Cons

Job stability is not based on performance in IT organization. One year it's 110% bonus and the very NEXT year it's massive workforce reduction; would you run your household that way too? I have been at the company for 14 years and have experienced a layoff announcement every year, sometimes even 2+ times a year. There is no team consistency as working relationships are shortened due to contracts expiring and layoffs.
