Pros

Work life balance is great. You get paid overtime. No micromanagment (but that’s probably because they don’t know what it takes to manage a project and not because they’re lax)

Cons

”Managers” with little technical and construction experience (in my opinion) get promoted to high positions to manage even younger staff. If you go to them for any technical/construction questions, they won’t know the answer…nor will they point you to someone in the firm who does. They also have no clue on industry standards and what’s required of discipline coordination.

Zero loyalty and empathy for individuals impacted by Reduction in Force (RIF) program who were laid off. No notice, low severance compared to industry average, and difficult to actually get paid. They seemed to be flying by the seat of their pants, which was really hard on the great supervisors having to take part in the action.
