Pros

The company has an excellent reputation as a top-notch engineering firm. Employees take great pride in knowing that PB was instrumental in building the original NYC subway, developing early rail lines in China, and that PB continues to be part of important and exciting projects around the world.

Cons

Shortly after being hired by this engineering leader it became clear that the company under-values any employee serving in a support role. They've already cut staff, limited increases and promotions, and removed everything that might improve employee morale in their quest to maximize profits and reward senior management and engineers. This employee questions the ethics of the company leaders who promote these policies.

Pros

PB is a premiere corporation offering services across the engineering spectrum. They supply superior customer service and high quality design and construction services.

Cons

PB having been recently acquired by WSP is conducting an aggressive review of staffing needs and many senior staff are feeling the pressure. Several senior staff have been furloughed as a cost cutting measure and will ultimately face layoff. Previously, prior to acquisition, PB work ed very hard to retain staff in anticipation of new work.

Pros

Global company. Easy to gain relevant experience. Tuition Reimbursement and various benefits including medical/dental/vision/401k. Great name to have on your resume.

Cons

Medical benefits are expensive and 401k only has a 50% match. Advancement opportunities are near non-existent. Yearly increases barely keep up with rate of inflation, sometimes don't. Management works for themselves and often keeps everyone in the dark until the last minute when decisions are sprung on you. AWS program (every other Friday off/9 hour days) discontinued for HR.
