Pros

You have it unless you "rock the boat" too much and as long as you kiss butt where necessary. Work/Life Balance:Non existant. You never know when you are going to see your spouse or children. Your email and cell phone are your main means of communicating with your family

Cons

Starting pay is mediocre when compared to hospitals and other pharmacy settings. Along with yearly wage being just enough to support yourself and nothing more. As far as respect goes, there is none. You get no respect from your district managers or customers AT ALL. The customers treat you like trash, no matter how much you try to please them. Walgreens has that attitude where customers are always right, no matter how many laws they break in an effort to get what they want.

Pros

Annual salary is 40,000 and the 401K is 3.05 for every dollar you invest. They promote store manager only from within which is good and bad. Good, because the store manager, in most cases, started as a cashier and could end up as a store manager, district manager, or regional manager. Bad, because without the right training you can be promoted too fast and become nothing more than a gloried stockboy who never learned the proper leadership skills needed to have successful staff.

Cons

The management position involves long hours, stocking shelves, and working several weekends in a row! Scheduling is supposed to be fair, but unfortunately for managers it is not. There is a lot of heavy lifting, pressure, and poor feedback with this position. You work really hard, but nobody notices or says any thing.

Pros

Easy to do if you are a pretty lazy person which was great for me in the beginning.

Cons

Big downside is if you have a crappy store manager. From what i heard its great and easy to advaNCE if u have a good manager that isnt a drug addict. SHe has a huge stash and would give you inpossible duties, and when i would do them 100 percent she would show me this facial expression of horror and tell me that I'm lucky that no one wants the night shift. Also I would get blamed for stealing that i never did.
