Pros

Very stable company with room to grow if willing to relocate and put in the extra work needed to be noticed. People issues have improved over the years.

Cons

Still has the good ol boy network when it comes to promotions. Very few full time positions. Promotions only as good as the leadership of the store.

Pros

Wal-Mart is an amazing place to work at in terms of compensation. They have one of the higest starting rates out there. Other things include benefits, good coworkers, and job security.

Cons

They are really shorthanded. Often time employees are pulled to go do other things, which leaves your department shorthanded. The managers only really care about the business, not the employees.

Pros

At the store level, there is a great family feel. Discount is nice Hard work does get rewarded LEading edge of retail Easy to change jobs if you get bored Profit sharing

Cons

You're lucky if you see your store manager once a week Co-managers act as if they are god Ridiculous chain of command-you cannot go to the store manager, co-manager, or even assistant manager if you aren't a supervisor. You HAVE to follow the chain. Complain to your supervisor and nothing gets done? good luck getting someone to talk to you. Management does not care. Feel lucky if you get 2 or 3 that are nice. Too many chiefs, not enough indians. TLE gets treated like GARBAGE, even though they make up almost 30% of sales, and in a good store quite a bit more glass ceiling. work hard, you will get promoted to supervisor eventually if you posess the attitude. That's it. Good luck getting promoted further.
