Pros

There are alot of good people (management and hourly associates). Technology is 2nd to none as far as replenishment and systems.

Cons

Company has shifted to being managed by fear and intimidation. Many people are being put into positions with non related experience which I think is being reflected in store conditions. Store sales floor associates are being reduced which is hurting customer service.

Pros

I would be very hard pressed to find any pro's except maybe it looks good on a resume to say you have survived working for the devil.

Cons

Abusive, very abusive environment. My first clue was on my very first day when my 10hour shift turned into a 19 1/2 hour day of being yelled at and told how much I suck. I know there are people who will disagree with me but seriously Wal-Mart is one of the lousiest places I have ever worked. I have a college degree in business, I have over 10yrs experience managing small to medium sized businesses. I also have an extremely successful record for turning profits. So before any of you start thinking I'm some dumb kid who fell into a job that was over my head I wanted to make sure you know where I am coming from. Nothing here is realistic, regional people expect the store to get everything done in day no excuses ever. They also don't want you to hire enough people to get the job done because that would have a negative impact on theyre bonuses. I was dropped into a failing store and although my part of my evaluation was well above standards because the store as a whole was failing I did not get a raise. This is a very demoralizing policy in my opinion. I have been yelled at cursed at told to work multiple weeks without a single day off and work up to 21 hours a day. All this in the name of management, from the market manager up they all believe that because your salaried and work for Wal-Mart they pretty much own you and can force you to do whatever they want. Th benefits are so ever priced and so not worth the money but hey they offer them.
