Upper management could be a whole lot better

Pros

I was able to meet great new people and establish a good working relationship with most of my co workers. The pay was good but the co-workers made it worth staying.

Cons

Since they paid you decent they felt they could treat you any kind of way. Upper management was horrible and did not care about the employees. Most of the time they made excuses for why certain things couldnt get done instead of finding solutions.

Pros

Some of my direct shift managers were ok, and fun to work around. Breaks were more than adequate. Paid on time.

Cons

Pay is horrible. management didn't know heads from tails, and none of them were professional. It was completely shocking to see such a big company that was in total disarray all the time. One of my managers had been working for Wal-Mart for 16 years he only makes $45,000 a year, and he wasn't an idiot. Wal-Mart is one of the many reason's our country is in the shape it's in.The whole experience at Wal-Mart was VERY VERY disappointing.

Pros

-Starting pay was higher than what the other retailers were offering -Overnight stockers have a consistent 10pm-7am shift; the days usually remain the same as well -Time passes by really quickly -Lots of cool employees

Cons

-Unrealistic expectations for stockers; all but a handful of people meet their times. One time I had 6 pallets and 2 carts that they wanted completed in 2h 45m?!?! -Night time customers usually aren't the most friendly of people and some are just outright creepy -Training is a joke. I had 5hrs of irrelevant CBLs(why does a stocker need to know how profit works?) and 2 nights shadowing someone before I was sent on my own and expected to meet the times they gave me. -Attendance policy is a joke. 4 weeks notice to be able to take a day off without any penalty. Sickness even with a doctors note is up to their discretion.
