Pros

If you are a sales associate and young, you might meet some interesting people both with whom you work with and customers. I personally worked in the electronics department with other young individuals as well. Pretty much it was alot of customer service and if you like talking to and being nice to people than this is the job for you. Overall, it is a pretty relaxed atmosphere to work in as there is no pressure to make commission sales. It gets a little intense during the holidays and black friday though, but it is a good job for college students who seek part-time employment.

Cons

You get close to your co-works and some of the store management, but don't expect everything to be fair with pay per hour or hours worked during the week. If this is just a temporary job, within the Wal-Mart stores than by all means this is a good job. But if you are counting on making money and advancing quickly with them, especially throught the store than don't work for them. The benefits are really bad and are not exceptional compared to other retails.

Pros

You can get a 10 percent discount on general merchandise items. Walmart also has good insurance for their associates and I also get plenty of vacation time.

Cons

They constantly over work us. They don't value the associates opinions and needs enought. They always give us way to much to do in a single day

Pros

Great benefits for someone my age. Time off when I need/want it. I feel that now, more than ever, I can go to upper management with any problems I might have.

Cons

After more than 10 years at Wal-Mart, I have accepted the life that comes with retail. Having to work weekends/holidays is the norm. I hear other people come to Wal-Mart and get a job, then complain about the job they have to do. You know what is asked of you when you are hired, if you don't want it, don't take it.
