Pros

Pharmacy computer software is great. Since there are Walmarts everywhere it is easy to transfer within the company. Medical and prescription insurance are easy to afford with salary. Usually security is not an issue since store always full of people. We can import prescriptions from other Walmarts thru the computer to make transferring prescriptions easier.

Cons

They try to micromanage the pharmacy. Each year you are expected to be more productive than the previous year with less help. Customers are frequently abusive to workers when prescriptions are not done fast enough. Walmart then rewards these rude people with gift cards. Some doctors and other pharmacies lack respect for Walmart since it is a retail chain with $4 prescriptions.

Pros

It will give you the ability to lead the highest volume store in the world and ability to manage 400-500 plus people. If you like leading, teaching, and training others to be successful this may be a good job for a single person. Wal-Mart is a very charitable company that gives you a sense of pride in taking part in.

Cons

Store Managers are always on the chopping block and will throw any one under the bus if they are incapable of running the store. You can end up working all kinds of shifts and 80 hours plus with no additional compensation for long periods of time. Poor Store Managers often over work and bend the schedules of strong Assistant Managers Instead of holding the bad performers accountable.

Pros

There really aren't any good reasons, other than the fact that it's fairly easy to get hired there when you need a part-time job in a pinch. Just don't expect to get full-time work.

Cons

It's nearly impossible to get a full-time position. Stores are frequently understaffed, communication is poor, both management and customers treat associates as if they weren't intelligent people. Benefits are too restricted to full-time employees considering that few people are made full-time. Hours are too inconsistent.
