Pros

Ther is so many different things to do at Wal-Mart that you will never get bored. If you like electronics you can be a manager over electronics (Metroplex, the internal name for the area) or if you like to deal with people you can run the front end. You never get bored there because there is always something to do and no day is ever the same. Also there is a lot of great people that work there that you would never really get to know unless you work there and build that relationship. And another great reason is you will never be laid-off because no matter how bad the economy there will always be a Wal-Mart.

Cons

Some of the downsides of working there is the sheer size of it makes it hard to stand out and get noticed. There are so many associates and managers in each store that unless you spend every waking moment at Wal-Mart you will never shine to the higher ups. Most the time to them you are just another face that does not stand out and they only know your name because you are wearing a name badge. It seems that the only time you do get some face time with the higher ups it's because you did something wrong and it is time for the butt chewing.
