In 2006 money was abundent so morale and raises were great. however since 2007 alot has changed. Morale is way too low. Penny pinching in all the wrong places.

Pros

It's one of the best places to start a career in banking. The company offers both full time and part time jobs. Wells Fargo is an organization that values community and hiring from all diverse segments. You can meet a lot of interesting people and make life long friends. The company offers great benefits and tuition reimbursement for students. Wells Fargo is one of the most respected financial institutions with regard to consumer and business lending. If you take the time to learn credit skills, you will be widely marketable to other firms. You can form a strong personal and business network. The company offers competitive benefits package and great discounts on things that matter over the long haul (ie discounts on lines of credit, mortgages, car loans, no fee checking/savings accounts, discounts on foreign currency for travel, free cashier's checks, etc).

Cons

Aside from credit skill training, the other training programs are not that strong in comparison to other financial services firms. The bank does not invest enough in recruiting and retaining strong team members. The hiring philosophy is analagous to the law of large numbers. The aggressive sales culture is highly focused on numbers and production versus quality and accuracy of completed tasks. A good number of employees do the bare minimum or worse, they don't try and other team members have to pick up the slack. Politics and popularity is essential to succeeding at Wells Fargo.
