Pros

Only their overwhelming presence in so many locales.

Cons

Treatment of employees is awful; the busines unit supported by my technical team was sold off and no information was ever given to the technical team about their future roles. When I finally left about 3 months later, my senior manager didn't even speak to me. I always did a good job for Norwest/WF but it sure changed with the merger. I can't imagine it will get any better with these new mergers and acquisitions.

Pros

Wells Fargo has fantastic benefits, with a great 401(k), numerous medical plans, a lot of vacation time, good banking benefits, friendly work environment. All of the time off is lumped into Paid Time Off instead of having separate sick days and vacation days. Well managed company, overall.

Cons

Wells Fargo has the same downsides of working for any large corporation. Sometimes you get lost in a numbers game. Individuals don't often have much feedback. Management is highly paid, while "regular" workers are sometimes underpaid and under-appreciated. Again, I believe these are issues that every big company has, though, so I don't solely blame Wells Fargo for this.

Pros

The company has a great reputation in the community and a very sustainable way to conduct business. Hierarchies are flat, and for the most part people are smart and very eager to share experiences and work as a team. Great sense of community. Benefits are competitive to generous, work-life balance is not just lip service but taken seriously.

Cons

The pay ain't great - the company has a policy to keep pay as low as possible, not many chances for advancement and change. Large bureaucracy. Edison NJ location has been rumoured to be closing for many years now, just be aware.
