Pros

There are many career advancement opportunities within Wells Fargo. You can easily start off as a teller and then work your way to lead teller, banker, and then service manager in two or three years. After that, you can become branch manager. In my case, I'm currently looking for opportunities in the IT area, and there are countless opportunities there once I graduate.

Cons

On the retail banking side, Wells Fargo seems to focus too much on sales. That puts a lot of pressure on the employees to sell their products and services, and advancement is often dependent too much on how well you can sell. For example, if you are a teller and want to advance to a service manager position eventually, you'd better be selling well.

Pros

They offer a good benefits package and provide good work and life balance. Many teams offer work from home opportunities which is great in current times (with the explosive price of gas). The environment fosters learning and growth opportunities exist for those who are willing to go that extra mile.

Cons

Lack of structured processes. Inconsistent methods in delivering services to internal customers. There are many instances of things being done at the last minute, which causes quality to be below mark.

Pros

It's great to know you're with one of the greatest and most respected companies in the world. They have great salary potentials, wonderful benefits, amazing opportunity for advancement, and a very knowledgeable and wise leadership. In an industry that's really taking a beating right now, Wells Fargo is still standing strong. Many banks and financial institutions are laying off masses of employees, while Wells Fargo is still hiring aggressively. It's also encouraging to see those who are leading the company now and learn that many of them began in the same position--credit manager. It shows that if you're willing to put in hard work and be loyal, you will be rewarded!

Cons

You may possess all the qualities to make yourself an amazing manager, but if your personal sales numbers don't match up then you'll never get a shot.
