Pros

They seem to really care about employess here. There are people that have spent 20+ years with WF because of the attitude. When other financial institutions are laying people off, WF is doing what it can to, not only retain current employees, but hire new ones too.

Cons

It is a BIG company! And, with the economic situation the way it is, banking is going to be a place where you never know what will happen next.

Pros

The work culture here is relaxed but professional. People are focused on getting the job done but are civil toward each other. I really like the fact that our employer, Wells Fargo, is supportive of our time outside of work. Wells is a philanthropic organization.

Cons

Sometimes the greater goal is lost in such a large organization. Process can often slow things down to the point that you wonder if folks understand what the collective goal is. Another area that is a negative is when departments lock horns over process rather than solving the issue. Usually such issues are resolved with senior management becoming involved.

Pros

benefits are extensive, health, eye, dental, psych, counselling commuter pre tax, FSA pre tax, room to move around and gain experience up to mid level at least - many groups to move into and out of good life work balance

Cons

pay could be potentailly lower that other similar financial institutions, lots of tenured people so can get a little stale many of the groups are pretty flat from and org'l prespective and so there is not that much room to move within a group and this usually involves moving to another group they put and end to stock options for rank and file
