Thank you for sharing your experience after so many years with Wood Mackenzie. Thank you for everything you've done for the company. We appreciate you highlighting both the positives and the areas where things could improve. It's great you've highlighted our pension and our social gatherings! We know that resourcing and cross‑time‑zone collaboration can create challenges, and we’re committed to continually improving how we support our teams globally. If you’re open to sharing more, we’d really value the conversation — please feel free to speak to your function's HRBP who would be delighted to have a one-to-one.

Pros

- day-to-day work is interesting - (some) bright colleagues (most have left or were laid off in lieu of lower-cost labor in mexico and india) - easy to clock in / clock out / get a paycheck

Cons

- no career opportunity - compensation & ratings not tied to performance - pay is below market - leadership does not understand the product nor our clients pain points - constantly being asked to do more with less - offshoring / layoffs (if i had to guess probably >15-20% of the company has been offshored or cut following the veritas acquisition) - morale has tanked; no longer excited to go to work - standards for hiring have dropped - underinvestment in products that actually drive value for clients

Pros

If you are looking for something temporary until they work out how they can get your job done cheaper, or by A.I. this is the place for you.

Cons

9 different managers in 10 years. When they decided to cut the workforce by 8% by outsourcing to data centre in India (which was useless), the criteria was that the longer you were there (old contracts and pension rates) the quicker you had to go. The money they saved was "to be invested in A.I.", which they said like it was a good thing, not something that would lead to even more job losses.
