Pros

Grants and Finance team for the Cities program that is very supportive, hard-working, and collaborative.

Cons

Unfortunately, this role relies more on the relationships with project managers and directors who manage funds. There was a wide range of personalities, from indifferent to micromanaging, that makes the job a difficult balancing act. Staff are undercompensated and there is a high level of turnover due to this and burnout. It was not uncommon for me to have 12+ hour workdays to meet deadlines.

Pros

Fun, exciting, driven colleagues all who have a mission to make the world a better place. Opportunity to be part of impactful projects.

Cons

Too much change and movement within management. Lack of long-term planning when funding changes. Lack of job security.
