Highly committed, competent staff members for the most part Effective child-focused, community-based development work Good working conditions, compensation and opportunities for advancement

Cons

Extremely complex organization which is difficult for new employees to navigate; poor organizational orientation International coordination has improved vastly, but still has quite a ways to go Work/life balance is a challenge in what can be a frenetic, driven culture

Pros

There is a possibility of Career advancement and a way of learning new skills especially when you are a fresh young man/woman coming from college.

Cons

Management especially on the HR side still has a lot to do in terms of harmonization of salaries and benefits across the board

Pros

Great Christian organization. Doing great work in the field. Have never come across anyone who is mean or disrespectful. Everyone has a common goal to help the worlds least fortunate so they can live life in all it's fullness.

Cons

Organization often uses "guilt trips" to get their point across. It seems the only way they feel they can get their point across to the employees and donors is to make them so sad and depressed and overwhelmed that they feel obligated to give. I can't tell you how many times I have left "Chapel" sad and depressed by the images they show and spend the day (or weeks/months) with the images of sad, dying or starving children in my mind.
