Wonderful organisation but needs better management

Pros

Exposure to international and humanitarian work Lots of on-the-job training Able to express Christian values at work Lots of spiritual growth if you have the right attitude and meet the right leader/boss.

Cons

Less work life balance as staff are expected to "give their all" to prove their love for the ministry. Management does not emit the love of Christ as expected of someone of high rank in an Organisation like this.

Passionate, intellectual and caring people. Good at providing opportunities to move around internally within Australia.

Cons

Leadership very slow to make decisions and not very commercial. The CEO needs to change as he embeds a sometimes passive aggressive culture

Bad behavior can get overlooked

Great ministry and some really great people to work with.

Cons

Some people employees get away with bad behavior because they are good at their jobs. I was told by one employee "They don't pay me to be nice." When disturbing matter was brought up to management, I was told that they put up with the employee's bad behavior because they were so good at their job. The employee's behavior goes totally against what World Vision is all about. That was just one employee. Most others were great to work with.
