Served overseas for 8 years and my experience with WVI was first-rate. My immediate team was comprised of some of the most inspirational and committed people I've worked with. Also had great freedom to develop social innovations for genuine impact.

Cons

Can be highly bureaucratic and bogged down with overly-prescribed processes. The farther you get from the field work, the more bureaucratic it can become.

Pros

This is a really a family oriented organization. Great benefits with decent time off as needed. Many people are here to help hidden around the world and that's a great thing.

Cons

What I find is that the low performers generally stay here because high performers that come through from time to time get fed up with the bickering of the low performing leadership... Most here are happy with the status quo - I think it's a Christian thing. Petty squabbling happens all the time and everyone is invited to have an opinion before we move on a decision
