Not what I expected

Pros

People are great. Having your birthday off came back this year, as well as the 1% we lost last year due to the economy.

Cons

At first I was excited to be working for a well known, word wide company like Xerox. It didn't take me long to realize I should not have gotten my hopes up. Pay is not competitive. The hard workers are the ones that need to defend themselves while the 'other workers' are the ones that get a break. Since the pay cut last year, they took away the education program. From what I understand, everyone starts as a contractor, and with the 'hiring freeze' they will not hire anyone on, no matter how valuable you are. Even before the hiring freeze, they were very reluctant to hire, and would rather keep a big pool of contractors. Depending on your position, there is not much room for growth.

Pros

The work there was challenging and management generally would give you a task and then get out of your way and let you decide how to do it and would hold you accountable for the deliverable. They always seemed to give you recognition for a job well done and treated their employees with respect. I never remember more than a couple of stressful situations in all the years I worked there. Generally management never gave out unrealistic tasks and would listen and take to heart feedback they got from down below. Of the 4 companies I worked for as a professional I would rate them as the top one, and the one I would most likely to go back to work for if I got the chance.

Cons

The company right now appears to be shrinking and might not be a good place to move to if you already have a steady job.

good place to work, but work is all you can do here

Pros

Amazing place to work. Everyday is a learning opportunity. You get to work with some of the brightest minds around and if you push yourself, you'll really do well here.

Cons

There aren't many fun things to do around here. Time does drag occasionally and I usually end up going to the gym to blow off steam. I would've liked a few lounging areas for employees to just relax and take a break from pounding their heads against code.
