I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Paychex in May 2016
Interview
Applied via the careers site. Very quickly received a call from a recruiter who gave me a 2 minute phone interview and then instructed me to complete an online exam. A few days later I scheduled an interview at one location which went well, but they were ultimately not hiring at that location. I was sent to another location for a 15 minute interview before they progressed me to the field ride. The field ride was quite uncomfortable as the person I was shadowing seemed more interested in cracking jokes and making inappropriate comments about my personal life. I tried my best to remain professional and direct the conversation back to daily life as a Paychex Sales Rep. At the end of my field ride, I had a feeling I wouldn't receive an offer. I followed up with the hiring manager and the recruiter via email and phone. Nearly 2 weeks later I received an email stating they would be moving in another direction.

I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Paychex (Rochester, NY) in Nov 2014
Interview
Interview process was pretty simple. Applied through University career site. Scheduled an interview within a month of applying. Manager who was interviewing was very enthusiastic in knowing my work. He explained what the team does and also what paychex does. Talked about some important points in the resume. Since this was an internship position, only one round of interviews took place.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Paychex (Detroit, MI) in Oct 2014
Interview
Very straight forward. Had a screening phone call, followed by a brief interview with recruiter. Then went onsite for an interview with manager. After getting through those, then had a phone interview with a regional manager, which was then followed by a hard close phone call from manager.
