I applied online. I interviewed at Paychex in Feb 2018
Interview
First started with a phone interview. After that I went in for a in person interview. I then had another phone interview and shadowed a rep in the field for half a day. After this was completed I got the job. Overall it was a positive experience.
Recruiter called me 15 min late (didn't even apologize), talked to me for literally 3 min, and then told me my experience doesn't cut it (hello, you could've checked my resume before wasting my time), then emailed me a link to the company careers page (hello, I obviously can find that myself since I already applied). Waste of my time and her time, except she got paid for that time and I didn't and I was ready to actually put some effort into it. Lame interview and now I'm not even interested.
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Paychex (High Point, NC) in Jan 2019
Interview
It moved really quickly I applied, interviewed and got an offer all within 8 days. After completing application I received an email from a recruiter requesting I complete an assessment. I completed immediately and was sent another email to set up a phone interview a few days later. The phone interview just went over the position and my previous experience he also asked me two STAR format questions. I was then asked to come in for a face to face interview. At the interview I met two supervisors over the payroll department. They asked multiple questions about my experience dealing with customers and stress as well as how I multitask and organize my work(STAR format as well). Then I was asked if I had time to sit with one of the current employees to see what they do on a day to day bases, while sitting with assigned person I was asked to come back the following day for another interview. The next day I met with supervisor she asked me a few more STAR format questions about multitasking and handling customers then she asked if I had time to meet with her manager. We then met and went over my interview experience what I liked or didnt like and any other questions I had. The next day I got a call from the original HR person I spoke with and was offered the position. Do your research on the company dont wing it and make sure you have good questions for them as well.
